Signal de Botrange is the highest point in Belgium, located in the High Fens, at 694 metres (2,277 ft). It is the top of a broad plateau and a road crosses the summit, passing an adjacent café.
For several decades a meteorological station was installed at signal Botrange. Since 1999, it was replaced by an automatic station of the Royal Meteorological Institute of Belgium installed on Mount Rigi (scientific station of the High Fens - University of Liege), which is between the signal and the house Baraque Michel.
2019-01-12 Directly after putting a check mark on Kneiff I drove to Belgium’s highest point, Signal de Botrange 694 m. It is located an hour drive north from Kneiff
After the two peaks I drove to the Netherlands and passed through Germany as well. In less than 8 hours I had visited four countries.
Summit number 7.
From Signal de Botrange I drove further one hour to the Netherlands where I was going to spend the evening and night. I had decided to stay at Hotel Snow World in Landgraaf. An indoor snow world complex with hotel, gym and Europes biggest indoor ski lifts and slopes. My plan was to rent skiis but I ended up in the gym and just watched others ski in this very interesting facility.
